Maronka is a small village in the Port Loko District to the north of Freetown.

EducAid has been running a small primary school in Maronka since 2004.

It started when we gave a blackboard and some chalk to the chief for six children who were

too small to walk the 3 miles distance to the nearby government school.

Now, there are close to 100 children who have started the journey that is education.

An entire case study has been prepared about the Maronka village, community and school.  The materials are designed for work in English, Mathematics, Citizenship, RE and more with photos, maps, real statistics, stories and activities.

We are partnered with the St Simon’s Roman Catholic Primary School.  St Simon’s School raise funds for the EducAid schools and engage in curriculum projects about Sierra Leone.
