Mealo Allieu - ex head-girl at EducAid Lumley.

Having grown up in the Wilberforce barracks in significantly constrained conditions, Mealo lost her father 2 weeks before she sat the BECE [Basic Education Certificate Examination] and lost her mother 2 weeks before sitting her WASSCE [West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination].  Despite this she did well, thanks to the hard work she had already put into her studies.

Through the generosity of a friend of EducAid, Mealo is now sponsored and is entering her final year of tertiary studies at the Institute of Public Administration & Management in Freetown.

Mealo also teaches literacy & numeracy in the female wing of the Central Freetown Prison through EducAid’s work with AdvocAid.
