Freetown Senior Secondary Opens January 2003

EducAid Freetown School started in September 2000. It has been a huge success increasing from an initial 30 pupils to a current 150. This school caters for pupils who have completed primary education (at some time - usually not recently) and we take them onto the national BECE exam 3 years later. There has always been a question though about what our students should go on to do next. |

EducAid does not have the resources to pay for them to continue elsewhere. Therefore to start our own Senior Secondary School seemed the only realistic way forward. |

A Senior Secondary section was added to the EducAid Freetown School in September 2002 and this moved into its own not too luxurious premises - the EducAid garage - in January 2003. |

Accomodation continues to be a challenge but the commitment of staff and pupils alike is inspirational. We did pay for some new furniture to be made at a local carpentry shop! |
