EducAid receives requests to establish and run new schools all over the country but lacks the financial capacity. In order to respond to the evident need we have established a number of outreach programmes to support the improvement in education in other ways. We use these programmes to spread EducAid’s high standards of training and strong ethical code beyond our own schools.
Sierra Leone is a traditional society where girls’ education is not valued by many families and accordingly not valued by many girls themselves. Worldwide it is clear that where women’s education is disadvantaged, the whole economy and development is disadvantaged. The genuine participation of women in education in Sierra Leone is one of the founding pillars of EducAid, and this forms not only a programme, but an ethos that carries on throughout all of our schools and programmes alike.
