Erin Northey

Chief Executive

Erin joined EducAid in early-2017. Prior to EducAid she was the President of the Junior League of London, the London branch of a worldwide women’s voluntary organisation. Erin also has experience in education, graduating from Brown University with a Master of Arts in Teaching, and has worked within schools for 7 years back in the United States. Erin is a leader and has strong experience in running complex, international organisations.
Erin began working for the charity sector when she moved to the UK and has a range of experience. She left her interview for the role of EducAid CEO thinking, “Whatever happens, I need to volunteer or work with EducAid”. This is because she shares our commitment to values-led education and vision of a democratic, dignified and prosperous Sierra Leone. Erin believes that poverty in Sierra Leone can be eliminated by the work of educated citizens and is committed to creating a network of teachers who are continuously raising the standards of excellence in education. Whether it’s creating and nurturing corporate relationships or expanding fundraising with poverty-awareness campaigns, Erin is a welcome addition to the EducAid family.
